Top executives from Ascension Wisconsin and Froedtert Health say large-scale health care systems can make a positive impact and they're okay with a proposed joint operating agreement between Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health of North Carolina. Advocate Aurora Health, the largest health care system in both Wisconsin and Illinois, announced in May it was planning on combining with Atrium Health, which is based in Charlotte, N.C. Ascension Wisconsin senior vice president Bernie Sherry said he believes scaling up is a good thing for the health care industry, even as the industry remains essentially local.
