The city of Aurora is looking at a revamped deal with the Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. Alex Alexandrou, Aurora's chief management officer, said the new agreement could result in the city making an increased annual payment to the bureau, based on the success of the bureau helping the city increase its hotel-motel taxes, which is from where the payment comes. The city currently pays the bureau $175,000 each year, which has been the case since the last time the agreement was revamped in 2015.
