The City of Aurora's inaugural Bolivian Independence Day flag-raising ceremony is set to take place Friday. (Shutterstock) AURORA, IL — The City of Aurora is hosting its first-ever Bolivian flag-raising ceremony Friday. The event is set to begin at 11 a.m. at One Aurora Plaza, 8 E. Galena Blvd. Bolivian Independence Day also marks the one-year anniversary of Alice's Corner, the first full-service Bolivian restaurant to open in Illinois, according to city officials. The downtown Aurora eatery is celebrating by providing free empanadas to guests Friday, while supplies last.
