Following in the footsteps of other cities, Aurora is looking at a new fall festival that would play on the city's nickname, 'City of Lights.' Luminosity would be held from Sept. 6 to Oct. 5 beginning in 2024, if the city accepts and matches a grant from the state to pay for such an event. Aldermen on the City Council Finance Committee Thursday recommended accepting a $192,779 grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, which the city would match with its own funds.
