Former Advocate Aurora Health Care co-CEO Dr. Nick Turkal received deferred compensation totaling $9.3 million over the two years after his departure from the nonprofit that runs the largest health care systems in Wisconsin and Illinois. Those payments followed $13.4 million in compensation for Turkal in 2019 that included an unspecified severance, according to Advocate Aurora tax filings. Turkal, who previously was Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care's CEO, stepped down as co-CEO of Advocate Aurora Health in July 2019.
